VMBC Herndon Showcase of Bands Competition 28 SEP 2024

Our first competition of the season will be held at the Herndon Showcase of Bands – VMBC NOVA Regional Competition, hosted by Herndon High School (700 Bennett St, Herndon, VA 20170) on Saturday the 28th of September 2024.

Marching Cavalier’s Itinerary:

11:50 AM – Storage Shed/Garage Opens, set up props
12:00 PM – Rehearsal Begins
3:30 PM – Rehearsal ends; eat, pack, load (bring lunch)
5:30 PM – Depart Woodson HS (approx 35 min travel time)
6:15 PM – Arrive Herndon HS; unload, RR, Assemble Props
6:55 PM – Warm Up
7:55 PM – Move from Warm Up to Gate
8:05 PM – Gate Time
8:15 PM –Performance Time
9:00 PM – Group 6 Awards
9:30 PM – Load buses, Depart
10:00 PM– Arrive at Woodson HS, unload, clean room, dismiss

• Bring a bag lunch
• Uniform – Be sure to have black shoes (Dinkles), black socks, WHITE T-shirt. NO Jewelry or nail polish
• Clean/Polish instrument ahead of time!
• Bring good instruments unless its raining
• Bring extra reeds, mouthpiece caps and tuners
• Students MUST ride the bus to and from the event. If there is extenuating circumstance, it must be in writing and approved by the director.
• After we perform, all students will sit as a group in the bleachers for the awards. There will be no wandering around the stadium.
