Final Update About Oct. 26 Game

Mr. Morgan’s email tonight:
Hey Marching Cavs,

I want to say a HUGE thank you to our parent volunteers and students tonight.  We braved the weather for about 30 minutes and cheered the team onto the field and played our National Anthem and then headed inside to change.  The weather let up for just long enough to fool us into thinking we might have some time outside with the team.  I was expecting a mob of grumpy teenagers when we returned to the band room, but I was surprised at how positive and flexible they have been this evening.  Truly, they have a great attitude in the face of a rough situation.
One of our primary missions as a marching band is to support the football team, and I think we did that tonight as best we could.  I am so sorry for the seniors to have to move off senior night to our banquet.  Stay tuned for details about how exactly that will get fleshed out.
Students should change clothes into some warm and dry as soon as possible to avoid getting sick.  Now go and enjoy the rest of your evening and stay warm!  Students, we will need a hand getting the ponchos off of the stands and chairs Monday morning so please stop by for a minute and give us a hand.
Thanks,
AM

Due to the forecast, Mr. Morgan sent out the following in a Charms email Thursday night:
With the impending storm tomorrow, I am anticipating a few changes in what we’re doing.  in order to help everyone plan, please see the following small revisions to make sure we still cover everything we need to.
  1. Tomorrow night, we are going to “wait and see” about how the weather cooperates.  However, given the forecast, it is unlikely we will be able to perform or recognize our seniors as we normally do.  Students please report at the normal times and you will get instructions there.  The band has a full set of ponchos, but bring something warm to wear under your uniform.
  2. The band’s senior night activities are going to be moved to the Marching Band Awards banquet.  This is scheduled for November 8th.  Senior parents, please attend so that your seniors can get the recognition they have worked so hard for!  More specific info about awards banquet will come out next week.
  3. If you pre-paid for a meal tomorrow night, we are NOT serving that meal tomorrow.  There several logistical reasons for this.  HOWEVER, the good news is that our first playoff game is almost certainly a home game.  This will require all marching band students to participate in pep band activities on November 9.  In that event, your meal will be provided on that date.  If the playoff game ends up being an away game, we will figure out the best way to return that money.  Please plan on bringing some food to eat after school if you ordered food.
Folks, the weather certainly has been a challenge this fall.  I deeply appreciate everyone’s flexibility and willingness to find the best solution for this group.  Parents, thank you for your continued support of the band!
