Current Volunteer Opportunities!
The Woodson Marching Band cannot succeed without volunteer assistance from family members. There is a variety of volunteer tasks, beginning with summer Band Camp, Tag Day, and throughout the football and competition season. Family volunteers help students accrue points toward a Band Letter. We are transitioning to using CUTTIME events section in your students CUTTIME login to manage volunteers and give proper credit.
HOME FOOTBALL GAMES
Home games will require volunteers to help distribute marching uniforms, chaperone in the stands, move equipment/props and help check in uniforms. There will also be a separate sign up to help run the concession stands. Every home game will require help to set up the Props, Pit Equipment and other large items.-

Equipment/Pit Team
Sign up to join the Equipment/Pit/Prop team for football games and competitions:
The percussion pit is bigger this year and there are going to be a lot more props so any time you can give to this fun team is helpful. We need a minimum of 12 volunteers for each performance.
Football Games: Meet at the band room at 6pm to move band equipment to the field, as well as ensure all pit gear and props are in position for the halftime show. At halftime, help move all pit equipment and all props on the field for the band’s performance, then remove it when they finish. In the event of high winds, a few parents may be asked to hide behind a prop to hold it down.
Competitions: See opportunities to load the trucks, help at the competition, and drive (need 3 truck drivers for each). Some volunteers will ride in the truck, others drive themselves. Must wear pit jacket/shirt (provided), khaki pants or shorts.
